If you’re low
If your mood is low, please read the care note first. The links come after it.
You might be getting through a gray afternoon, a long grief, or a morning that won't get started. Or a doctor has prescribed a medicine and you're unsure about it. Either way, that decision stays with you and your doctor. If you feel a little clearer after reading, that's welcome, and your care plan still stays as it is. If you feel worse, please reach out to a person instead of handling it alone.
Below is a map of pages that already exist, and one of them is enough. You don't need the right words or much hope to use it.
-
1. The depression room
The longer page is depression. It's education that goes alongside care, and it hasn't had a medical review either. Read it when you want more.
-
2. If this is your week
Pick the situation you recognize and leave the others for another day.
- Widowhood is about grief after losing a spouse, with no timetable for feeling better.
- Rainy Sundays is about a long gray afternoon and the low mood that comes with it.
- Questioning the medicine helps you write down questions to take to your doctor. Any decision about a dose stays with you and your doctor.
-
3. The medicine answers, in short
The site's main FAQ answers two questions in a few words. You shouldn't stop an antidepressant because reading helped, and the depression and loneliness pages aren't medical advice, since they haven't been medically reviewed. The depression FAQ covers the same limits for this room. If you're in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/).
-
4. The shop, only after that
If you still want to look, the shop is closed, and its catalog is a preview of pieces that may be written later. Nothing is for sale and there's no checkout. A low mood is never a reason to buy something, and nothing in the shop is offered as care.
-
5. Two words worth keeping
The glossary defines depression, on this site and adjunct to care. Adjunct means alongside professional help, and it never means a reason to stop a prescribed medicine without your doctor.
If you're not safe, leave this page now and call or text 988 in the United States (https://988lifeline.org/). The other paths, including loneliness, are on If you’re new here.
