About Arcana Mentis
Arcana Mentis is a free site about how your own mind works, for anyone who wants clear answers and a little warmth.
Maybe you stay at the table after supper and wonder how the evenings got so long. The kids may have homes of their own now, or you lost a husband or a wife, or a divorce left you with more free hours than you planned for. You want warmth without fuss and straight answers without a quiz, and you'd like to be talked to like the grown-up you are. That's the reader we keep in mind when we write.
You're just as welcome if your story is different. Maybe you've moved to a new city where nobody knows your name yet. Your nights might disappear into a phone that feels like company at midnight and empty by morning. Or you have questions about your own care (a medicine, a doctor, a plan you're unsure of), and you want to learn more while the decision stays in your hands.
The site has nine rooms, one for each topic: mind control, brain optimization, getting your life back, spirituality and religion, manifestation, hypnosis, meditation, depression, and loneliness. Each room has a longer essay you can read on its own. Under it you'll find shorter pages about situations people recognize, like widowhood, an empty nest, a new city, or nights spent scrolling.
Every page is written in the same voice, from the long essays to the short answers. When a warning about your health matters, we put it near the top of the page, where you'll see it before anything else.
The few rules we keep
Mind control on this site means your own mind only: your attention, your habits, and the way you talk to yourself. We never teach anyone how to manipulate, persuade, or hypnotize another person. Self-hypnosis is one practice inside the hypnosis room, and it's something you do for yourself. Manifestation here means pointing your attention and your actions toward a goal you chose, and meditation is a way of practicing attention. None of these comes with a promise of money, magic, or a cure.
Arcana Mentis is for education. It isn't therapy or medical care, it can't diagnose you, and it doesn't promise a cure, an income, or any result beyond the ordinary world. If you take an antidepressant or any other prescribed medicine, keep taking it as prescribed, and talk with your doctor before you change anything. If a page leaves you feeling worse, please call someone instead of handling it alone.
If you're in crisis in the United States, call or text 988, or go to 988lifeline.org. You don't have to decide whether you're “unwell enough” before you call. The depression and loneliness rooms repeat this on every page. Those two rooms haven't had a medical review yet, so please read them as education and nothing more.
Money and privacy
Nothing is for sale right now. The shop page shows what we're planning, and it's closed. Guides may come later, and there are no advertisements on the site. Google Analytics counts visits, but only after you say yes on the consent banner, and the privacy page lists exactly what it collects. If anything about that changes, the privacy page will say so before the change happens.
Arcana Mentis is its own site, at arcanamentis.com (https://www.arcanamentis.com). It belongs to no other project and won't send you off to one. Come as you are, on a good day or a hard one.
